What are Pete & Deb doing now?

2013.... IT GIVES YOU WINGS

I'VE NEVER TASTED RED BULL, THE BEVERAGE BUT IT SEEMS THAT SOMETHING HAS GIVEN 2013 WINGS. IT HAS FLOWN BY SO FAST. IT FEELS LIKE ALL I'VE HAD TIME FOR IS MOWING GRASS. PUMPKINS ARE GROWING INSPITE OF TOO MUCH RAIN AND THEN THE RAIN JUST STOPPED IN THIS AREA. MOTHER NATURE SEEMS HARD TO UNDERSTAND SOMETIMES, WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING OR NOT.

WELL THE BIG YELLOW BUSES ARE ON THE ROAD AGAIN AND NEIGHBORS WILL BEGIN THE TRADITIONS OF FALL ONCE MORE. THE END OF BASEBALL BRINGS ON FOOTBALL. THE LEAVES BEGIN THEIR COLOR DANCE, AND PUMPKINS AND MUMS WILL DECORATE PORCHES ONCE AGAIN.

PLEASE COME VISIT US FOR ALL THOSE DECORATING TOUCHES, WE'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU BACK. AND BRING SOME FRIENDS WHO HAVEN'T DISCOVERED US YET. HAPPY FALL YA'LL

LITTLE BLUE CHOO CHOO
A NEW TRADITION HAS BEGUN AT THE PUMPKIN FACTORY. IT HAD A RAINY BEGINNING IN 2011. BUT WE HOPE TO EXPAND THE TRAIN SCHEDULE FOR OUR “ LITTLE BLU CHOO CHOO” BARREL RIDE. “PUMPKIN PETE” WILL ATTEMPT TO RUN RUN THE BARREL RIDE ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ONLY WEATHER AND TIME PERMITTING.

2012 SUMMER IS WINDING DOWN

WE ARE SAYING PRAYERS THAT MORE CONSISTENT RAIN IS COMING SOON. WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE RECENT NICE SHOWERS. THE PUMPKINS DON’T STAND UP TO WIND AND HAIL VERY WELL ( AS IN 2009, 70 MPH WIND AND 10 MINS OF QUARTER SIZE HAIL). BUT WE’LL SEE WHAT HURRICANES MAY YET HAVE IN STORE. WE USUALLY GET RAIN FROM AT LEAST ONE PER YEAR.

WE ARE CURRENTLY TRENCHING IN NEW ELECTRIC, WATER, AND GAS LINES TO OUR SHOP. HOPEFULLY, NO MORE BLACK OUTS WHILE CUSTOMERS ARE HERE. ALL OF OUR PROJECTS ARE BABY STEPS AS WE CAN COME UP WITH THE FUNDS. WE WILL STILL CONTINUE WITH MORE SIDING ,LIGHTING AND GUTTERS ON MY WISH LIST.

WE HAVE FELT THE LOSS OF A FEW OF OUR PETTING ZOO ANIMALS IN RECENT TIMES, HEAVEN HAS A NEW GOAT (BEVIS), DUCK (BILL), AND FARM DOG (SPIKE). SO WE ALSO HAVE ADDED SOME NEW ONES INCLUDING FARM PUP (BUDDY), WHO IS STILL IN TRAINING AS WE CAN’T KEEP HIM FROM JUMPING ON EVERYONE. WHERE IS THE DOG WHISPERER?

WE WISH THE BEST OF LUCK TO MY NIECE, KELLY FROM CHICAGO,WHO GRADUATED AND HAS ENTERED THE HALLOWED HALLS OF ALABAMA, ROLL TIDE !

SIDE NOTE: MIKE POLK, THE CLEVELAND COMEDIAN IN THE VIDEO FEATURE ON OUR HOME PAGE HAS MOVED UP FROM COMMERCIALS AND ENTERTAINMENT NEWS TO HIS OWN TV SHOW. SO GOOGLE HIM AND CHECK IT OUT.

DRY SUMMER OF 2012

IT SEEMED LIKE JUST YESTERDAY I WAS BLOGGING ABOUT TOOOOO MUCH RAIN. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR CUZ WE SURE COULD USE SOME OF IT NOW. IT SEEMED LIKE THE WATER SPIGOT JUST TURNED OFF. THE PUMPKINS ARE GROWING, WE DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY HAVE SURPRISED US. THE KIDS MAZE IS CUT – CAN YOU SAY ” PIRATE ”? YOU’LL HAVE TO COME OUT TO SEE WHAT I MEAN. WE ARE CONTINUING THE IMPROVEMENTS ON OUR NEW “PUMPKIN SHOP” BARN . WE WERE VERY ENCOURAGED BY THE SHOCK AND AWW OF PAST CUSTOMERS SURPRISED BY THE EXPANDED FALL LINE OF HOME DÉCOR AND HALLOWEEN GOODIES. SO PLEASE KEEP COMING BACK TO VISIT AND BRING SOME FRIENDS FOR FAMILY FUN ON THE FARM.

2012 RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

I DON’T THINK THERE CAN BE ANY MORE RAINDROPS OUT THERE. IT HAS RAINED US INTO THE RECORD BOOKS. AT TIMES WE THOUGHT ABOUT PICKING PUMPKINS BY BOAT. OUR NEW PUPPY HAS KNOWN NOTHING BUT MUDDY PAWS. BUT THIS TOO SHALL PASS. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND OUR FAMILY WISHES YOUR FAMILY A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON

Zombie Art
Pete & I received an amazing gift from one of our yearly visitors. Thank you Josh & Angi for the wonderful zombie painting by artist Jack Larson.

MOVING DAY 2011 HAS ARRIVED

THE LANDSCAPE IS CHANGING AROUND HERE. IF YOU HAVE VISITED US BEFORE THEN YOU HAVE WITNESSED OUR BUILDING A NEW BARN FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS. WE’VE BUILT IT OUR SELVES WITH THE HELP OF OUR FRIENDS. WE NOW HAVE DOORS AND WINDOWS INSTALLED AND HAVE MOVED OUR LITTLE HALLOWEEN SHOP BEHIND THE BARN. SO PLEASE BEAR WITH US AS WE MOVE THINGS AROUND BUT STILL HOPE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A GREAT PUMPKIN FROM OUR PATCH !!!!

WHERE HAS THE SUMMER 2010 GONE!

KIDS ARE BACK ON THE BIG YELLOW BUSES AND IT’S TIME FOR US TO THINK “FALLSCAPING”. WE’LL HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO DECORATE YOUR PORCH ,YARD OR …HAUNTED TRAIL.

OUR SEASON OPENER ON SEPTEMBER 25 WILL HOPEFULLY BE IN TIME FOR THOSE AVID CAMPERS WHO CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN EARLY BEFORE THE CAMPGROUNDS CLOSE FOR THE SEASON. PLEASE CONTACT US IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE PRIOR TO THAT DATE FOR YOUR CAMPING EVENTS. WE’LL TRY TO ACCOMADATE YOU.

THE PUMPKINS ARE NESTLED IN THEIR FIELDS, PLUMPING UP AND TURNING THAT BEAUTIFUL HARVEST ORANGE. THE CORN MAZE IS ALL MAPPED OUT AS A FAVORITE FALL CHARACTER THIS YEAR. ARE THEIR ANY “GEO-CACHING “ ENTHUSIASTS OUT THERE ? WE’D LOVE TO SET UP A CACHE OR TWO IN OUR MAZE IF SOMEONE COULD HELP .

WE HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A CHANCE TO VISIT WITH US AGAIN THIS YEAR TO FIND YOUR “GREAT PUMPKIN”. SEE YOU SOON!

THE GREAT PUMPKIN 2009

It was fun carving.......................... but sad departing!

FALL 2009 …… WHAT A SEASON!

This past year brought many challenges for us but ended with another successful Halloween season. We would like to thank all of our great, loyal customers who came out to visit us inspite of all the rain and mud in order to pick out their perfect jack-o-lantern. Check out our photo gallery for recent pix updates from all our creative carvers out there. Please keep sending your email pictures to us to be added to our gallery.

We have already started looking through seed catalogues for next year’s crop and we hope that “If you build it, they will come” as we continue working on our new pumpkin barn. Pete and I look forward to a great 2010 and hope that maybe this fall will be sunny and dry. And oh yeah …
GO BUCKEYES…..
